Leslie Tseng

Music Director / Concertmaster / Mom of Two
Award-winning performer for solo violin, piano trios, and string quartets

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Leslie started violin at the age of 6, and later studied under the tutelage of Professor Yang, Chi-Hsian of Taiwan National Normal University. Leslie was concertmaster at Taipei First Girls High School String Orchestra and Taiwan University’s Hsing-Lin Symphony Orchestra and was a first violinist at Taipei Civic Symphony Orchestra. She is also the founder of children’s classical music class Baby Mozart. Leslie received Professor Klara Belkan’s Chamber Music Master Class instruction, and performed in numerous chamber music recitals.

Leslie has won multiple prestigious awards including the first-prize of the Taipei Violin Competition in 1993 and first-prize in piano trio of Taiwan National Music Competition in 1997, first-prize in string quartet of Taiwan National Music Competition in 2002. She has decades of rich solo chamber music and orchestral performance experience. Now residing in San Diego, USA, she maintains her passion and dedication to music and her home country, in particular the promotion of children’s classical music and Taiwanese music with her daughter Ashley.
