Tan-Ling Yu graduated from Institute of Music, National Chiao Tung University in Hsin-Zu, Taiwan. She majored in percussion and studied with Bor-Nien Hsu.
She joined the NCTU Bus 2 Improvisation Ensemble during graduate school. Inspired by improvisation, she started to pursue self-realization and studied composing with Chao-Ming Tung, and then published “Circumambulating The Mountain” for vibraphone solo. She joined the Forum Music Percussion Ensemble in 2009. During the Forum Music Percussion Ensemble, she touched a large amount of contemporary music and was inspired by them.
In 2021, Tan-Ling and her husband, Chun-Yu Chuang, established a YouTube channel “MIVENUE – Online Concert”. MIVENUE focuses on using digital technology to provide performers with an online stage which opens the limits of time and space, making music performance more accessible to the public. Also, many musicians in Taiwan and their works can be promoted to the world through MIVENUE.
