Originally from Taiwan, Yu-Ying Emily Lee has performed in the United States, Europe, and Taiwan as a soloist and collaborative pianist and harpsichordist. She has been selected and invited to attend masterclasses and festivals with well-recognized professionals. Lee was the chairperson of Young Musicians Competition in Piano Division at New Jersey Music Teachers Association, and the pianist of several choir ensembles in central Jersey.
Lee received Doctoral of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where she studied with Ian Hobson. She also received both Artist Diploma and Master of Music degrees in Harpsichord Performance and Literature from UIUC under the guidance of Charlotte Mattax Moersch. Lee’s prior training was with Dr. Tzong-Kai Kuo at Tunghai University in Taiwan, where she received the Bachelor degree of Music with honors.
She directs LEE Piano Studio in San Diego and the pianist of San Diego Chinese Choral Society.
